Paris / Le Cap
An Intercontinental Wine Experience
Three centuries ago, muscadel grapes travelled from France to South Africa and on February 2, 1659, the first wine was made in South Africa. The wine came to be loved back in France - Napoleon had as much as 1,126 litres shipped, and Baudelaire compared it to his lover.
Soif d'ailleurs, Openwine and Espere are now bringing life to this old route by connecting the winemakers the wines of the Western Cape with wine lovers back in Paris with inter-continental tastings, storytelling and travels.
On October 10, 2017, the project was launched with the first intercontinental tasting with packed bars both in Paris and Cape Town. The result: no wines left on the shelves in Paris.
Stay tuned for Paris / Le Cap events in 2018.
